SILENCIO

le

The entrance, at 142 Rue Montmartre, is little more than black double doors, red ropes, and a black staircase. No sign labels the entrance. No name is plastered across the wall. No number marks the building.

It is one of the most visually and acoustically amazing clubs in Paris. The walls are designed like the walls of a high-end recording studio and it is very obvious in the sound quality. This place sounds very good and the music choices are excellent and fit the theme of this very unique space. The staffs are incredibly courteous and well mannered and the bartenders are true artists. Watching them make drinks is like watching a beverage ballet before you eyes. The interior including the smoking room is incredibly amazing. The smoking room especially, with what looks like artificial vines coming down through the space that hold small tables with ashtrays and scattered places for your drinks.

From 18h to 23h members only may enter this notoriously mysterious venue. Perks of this extravagant, invite only, establishment include; a rotation of artists and films in an intimate, almost personal environment. Writers, poets, musicians, visual artists, fashion designers, photographers, and more, are invited for private discussions or concerts for members and a limited number of guests. Degustations paired with wine tastings are common, with reservations booked weeks in advance. The wealth is apparent, the elegance is casual, and the fashion is superb. Silencio is open to the general public from Tuesday to Thursday from Midnight to 4:00, and on Friday’s and Saturdays until 6:00. To me, Silencio is a magical place that is not to be missed during your stay in Paris.
